Band Review: Shatterglass

I've really enjoyed listening to Shatterglass. They don't have a lot of songs available, so I have basically been listening to the same three over and over again, but it hasn't gotten stale.
While they are a relatively new band (2011), the members are experience, and you can tell that they are good at what they do: solid vocals, powerful drums, and pleasantly aggressive guitars. It has kind of a classic rock feel, but at the same time it seems more earnest, making it feel a lot more vibrant. I appreciate that.
They use language well. The best example of this may be "Coming Undone", as the adjectives combining with the music gives a sort of punctuation to the emotion. It's an effective song, as is "Talkabout".
The closest thing to a misfire is probably "Psycho Girlfriend". My initial thought was that it should be more playful, or go the other direction, where it is serious and sensitive about mental illness. Instead it feels much more cynical. Still, if it was based on something real, and it went on for a long time, this may reflect the truest emotions.
So even though that takes me back, it's a really good song. It has a strong intro and it's sharp and it hits hard. They really have something here. I hope they stick with it.
Songs are available through Amazon, iTunes, and CDBaby, but also through the band's web site, along with other merchandise.
