First
Things First is a pop rock band from Philadelphia.
I initially
thought they were more pop punk.
(Actually,
if any regular readers liked Falling Here, the pop punk band from Italy, you might enjoy First Things First.)
I can see
where it is more pop. The vocalizations and the lyrics are very much on the
side of pop, and in that regard they seem to lack some heft. The
instrumentation, while not exactly heavy, goes more in that direction, as if
there might be some metal influence. (Check out the intro to "Stuck On
Repeat" for an example of that.)
The band
feels young, so it seems possible that there will be a move more into one
direction or the other.
For now my
favorites are probably "Let The Good Times Roll, Kid" and "We
All Fall Down".
